The difficulty for you, indeed, is that your Knowledge is not based upon your personal wishes at all. You cannot alter it to serve your goals, most of which were created out of ignorance. Without Knowledge, you will merely create the substitutes under which you now live predominantly. What must be discovered through experience is that these wishes are the obstacles to your happiness and fulfillment. We emphasize Knowledge because it is the solid ground upon which you can make wise decisions. The Teachers will cultivate this skill within you. For if you relate to another who is honest and truly holds your best interests firmly in mind, you will become honest yourself. All forms of deception will become recognized, and the opportunity for correction will be presented to you.
